MASUKU is an abstract puzzle game for up to 4 players where you place masks with holes in them on a grid to score points, with ever-changing scoring conditions. The full game will release later in the year. For now we are releasing a demo containing the daily challenge.

Steam pitch: An abstract strategy game for 1–4 players. Place, rotate, and flip cards to reveal colours and symbols that match shifting scoring goals — smart positioning and a bit of luck decide who reaches 50 points first.

History

The game started out life as a Global Game Jam entry 2026. The theme was “mask” and was initially prototyped with paper cut-out cards. The idea was to mask out the colours and shapes to score points with a changing rule set, a bit like the card game Fluxx. When designing, Ally decided to play a version inside of Adobe Illustrator and thought it could work as a digital game, so pivoted during the jam to build in Unity.

The name MASUKU is from the Japanese word for mask.
