Description

This game was created to help other feel the frustration of having dyslexia. You play as a small fox a fairy tale story with Kings, Queens and witches. We don't claim to be actually like what a dyslexic persons sees, but merely a simulation of the frustration.
There are a bunch of options to try to make the game easier to play based on people's common conceptions on what fixes dyslexia. There is an option to add a colored overlay and remove the flicker in an attempt to combat "Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome/ Irlen Syndrome". And there is an option to change the font to Open Dyslexic which in my opinion is harder to read.
There are options which allow you to play the game in non-dyslexic mode if you want, but wheres the fun in that.

History

Im dyslexic and am frustrated with the games industry not adding dyslexic friendly options in games. Its estimated that 1 in 5 people are dyslexic so I feel this is an issue that should see more attention.
We've missed out on so many of gaming's epic story moments because they were hidden behind walls of text. From Final Fantasy 7 where i know several people that didn't make it past the first scorpion boss thing because they couldn't read the text that tells them to only attack when its tail is up, to the apparently hilarious dialogue in something like Undertale and reams of text describing the story in every Zelda and Pokemon game.
Situations where there is a multiple choice section in a game and a timer, dyslexics have no chance, they can barely make it through one of the options before time runs out. Item descriptions in games like dark souls. All skipped by dyslexics.
Iv made a text based adventure game that tries to simulate the frustration that comes with reading as a dyslexic person. The text is jumbled in ways that make it difficult to read and changes every chapter to keep you on your toes. I've got a range of accessibility options included in the game to show that stuff like dyslexic fonts and color overlays don't automatically fix the problem, but may make things a little more manageable.
The only thing most dyslexics seem to agree helps them is text to speech and we are all used to using it and hearing these robotically synthesized voices to consume all of text based media, this game includes it, and show the night and day difference from struggling to string a sentence together to being able to take in the story and actually play the game. This is not a solution to the problem but an experience to shed light on how dyslexics feel.
I am working on a semi solution and will share more info soon.
